Harold William Jenness of Ladysmith, WI, passed away on July 16, 2026, in his home, due to congestive heart failure. He was in hospice for almost a year due to his heart condition.

Harold was born to Robert and Dorothy (Vantreese) Jenness on January 15, 1955, in Ladysmith, WI. He married Debra Riegel on May 25,1974 in Ladysmith.

Harold served as a combat engineer and a squad leader during his 13 years in the Army. He was in the Army from 1975 until his honorable discharge in 1988. He was a member of the Union of Operating Engineers Local 139 for 25 years. During those 25 years he did everything from operating machinery for road work, Instructor at the Coloma Training School and as a Business Agent for the Union.

He also worked 12 years as an operator and foreman for pipeline on different right of way and cleanup crews. In his free time, he enjoyed watching old westerns and classic TV shows. He loved spending time with his family, boating, cookouts, taking rides in his Corvette and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Harold is survived by his wife Debra of 52 years; children Maranda Jenness of Medford WI, Joshua Jenness Sr. (Sara) of Ladysmith WI, and Robert Jenness (Chelsie) of Chetek WI; 9 grandchildren: Mataya Mogenson (Luke), Devin Jenness (Shawnee), Joshua Jenness Jr (Mercedes), Zachary Jenness, Kaelynn Balciar, Jacob Jenness, Bailey Jenness, Emmelyn Jenness, and Alivia Jenness; 3 Great Grandchildren: Alice Mogenson, Etta Mogenson and Sterling Jenness. He is also survived by his brother Robert Jenness Jr, of Indiana.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Dorothy Jenness; brothers Roger Jenness, John Jenness, and Richard (Dick) Jenness and his sister Kathy Jenness. He is also preceded by his son Jeremy Jenness and his granddaughter Samantha Balciar.

The family would like to thank the Hospice team at Marshfield Clinic for their exceptional care and support throughout this past year.

The family will be holding a celebration of life at 3:00 PM on Saturday July 25, 2026 at N4305 Sisters Farm Rd, Ladysmith for family and friends to gather, share memories and honor his life with military honors provided by the Rusk County Honor Guard.
