Helen Ione Weinzierl was born January 12th, 1932, to Louie and Lucille Fischer in Clam Falls, Wisconsin. She was the oldest of two children, with her younger sister, Caroll Irene Fischer, being born on November 18th, 1933. Helen graduated from Frederic High School in the Class of 1950.

On August 25th, 1955, she married Robert “Bob” L. Weinzierl, a union that raised one son and two daughters.

Helen would continue her education at the University of Wisconsin - Superior, where she earned her Bachelors of Arts on August 4th, 1972. Helen taught at Frederic Grade School for 34 years, until her retirement in 1990.

Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, trying her luck at the casino, cooking for large groups, socializing with her friends, and teaching an exercise class later in her life.

Helen sat on the Frederic High School Scholarship Board, volunteered as a tutor for students after class, and worked as an election official for many years.

Helen Ione Weinzierl passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 12th, 2025, exactly ten years to the date after her husband Bob died (February 12th, 2015).

Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband Bob, her sister Caroll, and her son Bryan. Left to celebrate Helen’s life are her daughters Wendy (Bruce), Beth (Richard), and her six grandchildren, Cole, Alex Ann (Dailon), Rachael (Jordan), Justin (Hannah), Rich, and Nick.

The ceremony of Helen’s passing will be held on Thursday, March 13th, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, located on 103 Birch Street West, Frederic, WI 54837. The gathering will begin at 10:00, followed by service at 11:00. Lunch will be provided at St. Dominic’s following the service.
