In Memory of Helen M. Krenzke


May 31, 1931 - February 24, 2025

Helen Marie Hospers Krenzke, age 93, of Rice Lake, WI, fell asleep in Jesus on Monday February 24, 2025 in Rice Lake. She was born on May 31, 1931 in North Tonawanda, New York to Werner and Ella (Hergesheimer) Hospers. Helen graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1949 and then attended Valparaiso University in Indiana. She was married to Theodore Krenzke on September 6, 1952 in North Tonawanda, New York.

Helen loved being a mother and grandmother; and lived in New York, Indiana, Montana, North Dakota, Alaska, North Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin. She worked in various clerical positions during her lifetime; and retired as the church secretary at First Lutheran Church in Rice Lake after 8 years of service. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, knitting, making arts and crafts, playing the piano and organ, singing in the choir and traveling. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Rice Lake for over 40 years - belonging to several church groups and Rice Lake Fortnightly.

She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Theodore Krenzke; 5 daughters, Karen (Kenneth) Koch, Kathryn (Michael) Lukas, Kristine (Kevin) Boettcher, Kimberly (Randy) Eveler and Kaye (Carl) Hartmann; 10 grandchildren, Laura (Michael) Taylor, Andrew (Michelle) Koch, Timothy (Emily) Koch, David (Taylor) Koch, Hannah Boettcher, Brian (Shannon) Lukas, Emma Boettcher, Ana (Nicholas) McIntyre, Ryan (Laura) Eveler and Sara (Noah) Moriarty; 21 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Werner and Ella Hospers; a sister, Marilyn Krause; a brother, Werner Hospers.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Monday, March 3, 2025 at First Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Rev. Jon Cluppert officiating, with interment in the Swede Cemetery in Rice Lake at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9:30AM-11:00AM Monday at First Lutheran Church.

The family would like to thank Vista Prairie Brentwood in Rice Lake for the wonderful care she received and St. Croix Hospice for the end of her life care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to First Lutheran Church in Rice Lake or a charity of your own choice.
