In Memory of Irvin R. Bird Jr.


December 5, 1937 - August 21, 2022

Irvin Raymond Bird Jr, age 84, peacefully passed away at home in Amery, WI August 21, 2022.

He was born on December 5, 1937 to Irvin and Katie (Reynolds) Bird in Minneapolis, MN.

He graduated from Patrick Henry High School Minneapolis in 1955 and attended Trade School for cabinet making which he enjoyed for a number of years. He married Iva Willard in 1956. Four children were born into this union, Irvin, Bonnie, Barbara and Beverly. All were raised on a farm in Bethel, MN. They were later divorced.

He spent most of his life as a truck driver for 30 years with Roadway and retired in 1995. Then he married the love of his life Wilma Richter on April 17, 2004 and lived in Amery, WI. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. They also had a winter home in Mesa, AZ for a number of years, where he attended Victory Lutheran Church in Mesa. Together they enjoyed RVing, camping, motorcycling, playing cards and games, dancing and spending time with their families.

His hobbies included golfing, bowling, hunting, fishing and Sudoku.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Marie and Irma.

He is survived by his wife Wilma; son Irvin (Kristie) of Hudson, WI; daughter Bonnie (John) Ebersohl of Amery, WI; daughter Barbara Burnett of Sumter, SC; daughter Beverly Bird of Lakewood, CO; stepson Randy (Ann) Richter of Amery, WI; stepdaughter Jolene (Kraig) Kruizenga of Champlin, MN; stepson Larry Richter of Amery, WI; grandchildren Paul; James (JJ); Amelia (Amie); Joseph; Justin; step grandchildren Chiara; Erika; Marlene; Andrew; Tyler; Brenda; Craig; as well as many great grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday August 30, 2022 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Amery.

Visitation will take place from 4 - 7 pm on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, and an hour prior to the funeral service at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
