In Memory of James L. Stream
James Leroy Stream, age 84 of Amery, passed away on March 6, 2026 at Dove Health Care in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin.
Jim (Cotton) was born in the township of Siren in his Grandma Wiberg’s log home on Elbow Lake Road to Vernon Leroy Stream and Dorothy Katherine Stream (Anderson) on August 13, 1941. He attended the Range grade school and graduated from Amery High School in 1959. He married Betty Jo Nihiser on June 10, 1961 at the Elim Lutheran Church in Range, WI. To this union their daughter Cheryl was born.
Jim was a part of the Range softball team and volunteered for the Apple River Township Fire Department. During Jim’s life he worked for the Soo Railroad, Northland Ski, Doughboy Packaging, Lesters, and retired from Durex in 2000. To celebrate his retirement, he took the family to Walt Disney World in Florida for a week.
Jim loved spending time with his dad Vernon, his brother-in-law Mark, and the Prindle boys fishing and hunting. A lot of time was spent at the hunting shack making trails, building deer stands, and hunting. He loved the woods and made it a full-time hobby harvesting fallen trees from the homestead property and then building furniture (indoor and outdoor), making toys for the grandkids, making indoor and outdoor décor, and picture frames with his wife Betty Jo right there to complete the finishing touches.
Jim is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Stream; his daughter, Cheryl (Wayne) Casey; sisters, Barb Zufal and Deb (Mark) Prindle; grandchildren, Meghan (Jeff) Gedden, Chelsea (Michael) Linder, and Melissa (JR) Dirckx; great-grandchildren, Haley and Norah Gedden, William, Kaleb and Olivia Linder, Arya, Elaena, and Adaline Dirckx; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, good neighbors and friends. His contribution was in so many ways, for all who knew him, he will be deeply missed.
A visitation is planned for May 22, 2026 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. The memorial service will be held on May 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Stream Acres (667 US Highway 8). A lunch will be served.
