In Memory of James R. Robinson Jr.
James Raymond Robinson Jr., age 74, of Rice Lake, WI, passed away peacefully at home in Rice Lake, WI surrounded by family on Sunday, January 19, 2025.
He was born on January 29, 1950 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to James Raymond and Bernice (Murch) Robinson. Jim was raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. At age 17 he enlisted into the 1st Platoon 9th Marine and completed two tours in Vietnam. Returning to the United States still in the Marine Corps he was stationed at Camp LeJeune, was on duty as a Sergeant on the WW Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier and also shore patrol in Jacksonville, Florida. After the Marine Corps he worked in Green River, Wyoming in the mines. He loved Elk hunting on horseback out west. He moved to Rice Lake in the early 1980s. Jim worked at McCain Foods and also drove a semi truck for 14 years until his retirement in 2007. Jim married Suzanne Lefebvre on July 29, 1995 in St. Augustine, Florida. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James Raymond and Bernice Robinson; 2 brothers, Kevin and Brian Robinson; sister, Sharon Hill; son-in-law, Neil Schieffer.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Robinson of Rice Lake; 2 daughters, Maria (Ira) Laidley of Marion, Ohio and Tasha Schieffer of Rice Lake, WI; 4 grandsons, Kolten and Kaden Schieffer, Malcolm and Jakodi Laidley; brother, Dale (Heidi) Robinson of Grand Rapids, Michigan; brother-in-law, Bob Hill of Lakeville, MN; sister-in-law, Mary (Jay) Carpenter; great nephew, Ozzy who he shared his birthday with; and a special niece, Hilary (Chris) Jump. Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle to his family. His hard charging Marine attitude will be with us forever.
Graveside Services will be held at 2PM Friday, June 13, 2025 at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI, where Military Rites accorded him by the Rice Lake Veteran Honor Guard.
