In Memory of James S. Billon


October 19, 1944 - March 23, 2026

James Stephen Billon, age 81, of Chetek, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

James was born on October 19, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to Stephen and Dorothy Billon. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Throughout his life, James was known for his vibrant personality and his love of entertaining others. He found any excuse to take out his guitar to play and sing for everybody. James also enjoyed his time as a bartender at the VFW in the past.

James deeply cherished his family, especially the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and embracing the life he built in Chetek, Wisconsin. Above all, James had a strong faith and found comfort and purpose in sharing his love for his Lord, Jesus Christ, with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Dorothy Billon; his sister, Barbara Beckman; his brother, Michael Billon; his son, James Billon; and his grandson, Dominic Mastrodonato.

James is survived by his children: Alyce Haske (Jeff), Danette Billon, Anthony Billon (Serena), and Jessica Billon. He is further survived by his beloved grandchildren: James, Ashley, Michael, Jake, Catherine, Danette, Annamarie, Matthew, Samuel, Anthony, and Katie; as well as numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Stephen “Skipper” Billon (Rita) and Sue Billon.

James will be remembered for his warm heart, his unwavering faith, and the joy and happiness he brought to those around him.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek, Wisconsin on Tuesday, March 31, at 2:00 PM. A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
