July 24, 1932 - January 22, 2018

James Warren Green, age 85, of Webb Lake, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner, WI.

James was born on July 24, 1932, in St. Paul, MN to Carroll and Mary (Langdon) Green.  He was a class of 1950 graduate of Cretin High School.  He was an Army combat veteran of the Korean War.  He and Julia Leitner were married on November 23, 1957.  He was a member of VFW Post 14000 and American Legion Post 0449.  He retired from the St. Paul Police Department in 1990 after 29 years of service.

James is survived by his wife Julia; sons Patrick (Paula) Green and Thomas (Mary Beth) Green; daughter Karen (Tony) Del Fiacco; grandchildren Daniel Green, Meggin Green, Nicholas (Carrie) Bawek, Christina (Jared) Oasheim, and Jessica, Sophie and Michael Del Fiacco; and great-grandchildren Jacki Green, Anna Beth and Benjamin Oasheim, Nora, Quinn, Myles and Marlon Bawek. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Patrick and sister-in-law Gail Green, sister Helen and brother-in-law Phil Klein and sister Mary Kay Weber.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Spooner, WI with Father Bala officiating.  A gathering of friends and family will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
