Janice Larene Melton, 81 of Shell Lake WI passed away on October 19, 2025.

Janice was born on February 25, 1944 in Shell Lake to Harvey and Marjorie Spaulding. She graduated from Shell Lake High School in 1962.

On September 25, 1964 Janice married Thomas Melton and together they raised 5 beautiful children.

Janice spent her life caring for others, she loved people and doing things that made them happy. She loved gardening, puzzles, dice and card games, got way too excited playing spoons, and visiting with anyone and everyone. She loved God more than anything and was the definition of a prayer warrior. her goal was to make life the best it could be.

Janice will be missed by her husband, Tom; children, Mark (Nancy), Bonny (Phil) Scheu, Luke (Jenny), Sandy (Chris) Martin, Cindy (Russ) Londre; many loved grandkids and great grandkids; her sister, Sheri Ellsworth; and many nieces and nephews.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Marjorie Spaulding; grandson, Dylan Martin; and brother, Glen Spaulding.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 1, 2025 from 11 AM - Noon with a luncheon to follow at the Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland located at 1245 1st Ave. Cumberland, WI 54829.
