In Memory of Jeffery Brunette


February 8, 1954 - September 13, 2019

Jeffery “Jeff” Alan Brunette Age 65 of Rice Lake, WI died Friday, September 13, 2019 at Our House Memory Care in Rice Lake with family by his side.

He was born on February 8, 1954 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Douglas and Mila (Tukalek) Brunette. Jeff graduated from the Rice Lake High School in 1972 and then attended UW Barron County Campus. He worked for the family owned business known as the Brunette Box Factory until 1997 when they sold the business, he then worked for Johnson Truck Bodies where he installed refrigeration units and then became a school bus driver. Jeff married Linda Crotteau on May 9, 1987 in Rice Lake where they had many happy years together. Jeff’s black lab Buddy became his best friend during his dementia. He enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, going to Canada, painting and drawing, he was a woodworker and could build anything for anyone. Jeff loved Christmas decorations and music.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Brunette of Rice Lake; 2 daughters, Kimberly (Brad) Johnson of Rice Lake and Kristin Brunette of Rice Lake; a granddaughter, Serenity Johnson; 2 brothers, Blaine (Jill) Brunette of Rice Lake and Barry (Sally) Brunette of Rice Lake; 2 sisters, Renee (Greg) Barfknecht of Rice Lake and Marcia (Rick) Below of Rice Lake; a sister-in-law, Laura Brunette of Rice Lake; many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Mila Brunette and a brother, Jerry Brunette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, Father Ed Anderson officiating, with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Tuesday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
