In Memory of Jeffrey S. Burns

December 22, 1957 - April 17, 2026

Jeffrey “Charlie” Burns, 68, of Danbury / Webb Lake, WI, originally from South Saint Paul, MN, passed away unexpectedly on April 17th. He was known by nearly everyone simply as Charlie and likely won more than a few bar bets over the years from people guessing his real name—something few ever heard outside of his mother.

Born on December 22, 1957, in Duluth, Minnesota, Charlie had a lifelong love of sports, both playing them in his youth and later competing in local Webb Lake bar leagues. While living in South Saint Paul, he spent many years working in the grocery business and later as the DCTC store and kitchen manager. After relocating to his cabin in Webb Lake, he proudly owned and operated Charlie’s Bear Lake Lumberjack Saloon for around six years before officially retiring.

Charlie was a fun-loving, hardworking, and larger-than-life presence who enjoyed watching Minnesota sports teams, the Olympics, fishing, 70s music, and an ice-cold beer. He will be remembered for his big smile, his outlandish and unforgettable stories, and his ability to make anyone feel like an old friend.

Charlie is survived by his mother, Patsy Burns; his brother, Mark Burns; his nephew, James Burns (wife, Paige); and his niece, Tabatha Troff. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Burns, and his grand-nephew, Coby.

He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter he sparked, and the countless lives he touched.

A celebration of life will be held at the 10th Hole Bar and Grill, 7768 Co Rd U, Danbury, WI 54830 on May 4th from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
