In Memory of Jerome P. Krauski


November 15, 1938 - December 14, 2022

Jerry Krauski, age 84, of Hayward, WI passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.

Jerome Paul Krauski was born November 15, 1938, in Milwaukee, WI the son of Anthony and Stella (Eidys) Krauski.

He was raised in Milwaukee and graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha, WI. While in school he apprenticed with his father learning the art of stained glass. He then attended Layton School of Art in Milwaukee and Marquette University to further his education. On June 4, 1960, Jerry was joined in marriage to Theresa Mauerer at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waukesha, WI. Jerry and Theresa moved to Chicago, IL where they began Liturgical Environments Company making stained glass art. Jerry and Theresa would operate the business in Chicago until 1977 when they would move to Hayward, WI. At the time of Jerry’s passing, he was still actively working with the business and had completed over 75 years of stained-glass work across 500+ plus churches and other structures. Jerry was a gifted artist in many forms including painting, sculpture, and interior design for churches. He enjoyed fishing, watching movies, attending firework shows, and astronomy. Jerry and Theresa enjoyed many vacations traveling together which included enjoying God’s creation in the national parks and wonders of nature. One especially memorable and influential experience for Jerry was an eight-week tour of Europe and the Middle East including Israel and Egypt. Jerry was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward, WI serving as a lector for 44 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Walter Kalandyk Council #6587. Those that knew Jerry understood his patriotism for his country as he valued each person as having a unique identity as a reflection of Jesus Christ. And Jerry honored the freedom provided by our country’s ideals to enable the human spirit to pursue their personal mission to fulfill God’s will for their life.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Theresa; two children, Paulette (Michael) Ross of Hayward, WI, Annette (Kevin) Pohlman of Rochester, MI; four grandchildren Chris Ross, Andrew (Tasha) Ross, Rachel (Ben) Balke, David Pohlman; three great grandchildren Kendra, Kolbi, and Bella Ross; one brother, Bob (Mary) Krauski of Monches, WI; plus, nephews Peter (Megan) Krauski, Matt (Melissa) Krauski and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Jerry at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward with Father David Neuschwander officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward.
