Jesse Juan De La Torre, age 15, of Trego, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Spooner Health in Spooner, WI.

He was born on January 10, 2008, in Spooner, WI, the son of Juan and Jessica (Massey) De La Torre.

Jesse was a sophomore at Spooner High School and a dedicated athlete. He had a passion for sports. Especially football, basketball, and baseball. He loved being part of a team. Jesse was very talented and was teaching himself to play guitar. Jesse was a hard worker and a good student. He loved to be outdoors riding bike, playing with his dog, or just enjoying the Wisconsin outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with his younger brother, Miguel, and his Papa Joe. Jesse was a kind soul and a protective and caring big brother.

He is survived by his mother, Jessica Massey of California; his brothers, Miguel Garcia of Trego, WI and Richie Sanchez of Baker, CA; his grandmother, Deanne (Joe Denninger) Meyer of Trego, WI; his great-grandmother, Phyllis Brown of Trego, WI; his uncle, John (Shandell) Lynch of Duluth, MN; his cousins, Cole and Mariah Lynch of Spooner, WI; and his beloved dog, Shadow.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Spooner Wesleyan Church, 1100 W Maple Street in Spooner, where visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of the service. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jesse’s name may be directed to the Spooner High School Sports Program or to the family.
