Jesse Leaf (AKA Roland Deschain King) Age 34, of Gilbert, MN, formerly of Rice Lake, WI, died Friday, August 9, 2024 at his home.

He was born on September 2, 1989 in Rice Lake, WI to Curtis Leaf and Julie Kincannon. Jesse graduated from Rice Lake High School and worked for WalMart for many years. Jesse was married to Kiera Whetsel on May 29, 2021 in Chisholm, Minnesota. He loved writing books and screenplays, being with his rabbits, walking and hiking, playing video games, reading, music and watching movies. He was a man that was full of knowledge and information. Jesse was a comedian and loved to have people laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Kiera King; his parents, Julie Kincannon and Curtis Leaf; his biological father, Russell Schroeder; 2 sisters, April Leaf and Corie (Brock) Rizzo; half brother, Russell Schroeder Jr; 3 nieces, Nora, Eloise and Clara; 2 nephews, Jayce and Jerod; grandparents, Ray & Eunice Yurko and Butch Leaf; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jesse Whetsel and Michelle Condon; sister-in-law, Brandy Hunziker; brother-in-law, Joshua Lindner; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and so many close friends that he considered them family. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Leaf.

A celebration of his life will be held from 11AM-5PM Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Shudlick Park, 701 Hatten Ave., Rice Lake, WI. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting the family with the arrangements.
