In Memory of John Dodds


July 28, 1945 - November 10, 2021

John “Jack” Leslie Dodds, 76 of Frederic, WI passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2021 at the Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Cumberland WI.

John was born July 28, 1945 to Walter and Ethel Dodds of Osseo, MN.

John grew up on the family’s dairy farm on Weaver Lake alongside his brothers Darryl, Bob, Jim, David “Butch”, Bill, Paul “Birdman”, Ray, sisters; MaryAnn and Barb. After graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he proudly served his country from 1963 to 1967 and did 2 tours in the Vietnam War.mAfter completing his military services, he married Pamela Jesewski in July of 1967 and worked for his dad on the family farm in Osseo, MN. In 1971 he bought his own farm in Frederic, Wisconsin. There he worked and raised a family of 5 children. John loved farming, was always proud of harvest time, John Deere tractors, and the Marine Corps. He served on the Burnett Dairy Board and Immanuel Lutheran Church Board. He loved watching his kids and grandkids show at the Polk County Fair. John could talk about anything having to do with farming to anyone at any time. He loved his family and will be dearly missed.

John is preceded in death by his parents; Walter and Ethel Dodds, Sister: Barb Zimmerman, Brothers: Darryl, William, Paul, and grandson: Remington Dodds.

John is survived by his children; Jennifer (Kyle) Colby of Sandstone, MN, Ben (Angel) Dodds of Frederic, WI, Kerrie (David) Erickson of Frederic, WI, Walter Dodds of Ankara, Turkey, Mathew Dodds of Bon Aire, GA, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and many other relatives & friends.

A memorial service is planned for John on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 2:00pm at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery at N4063 Veterans Way, Spooner, WI 54801 with full military honors.
