In Memory of Joseph C. Bossany

September 6, 1929 - July 8, 2024

Joseph Charles Bossany passed away on July 8, 2024. Joe married Gerry Daniels, August 18, 1956. Together they took over his family farm in Chetek, where they raised their three children.

At the age of 21, Joe embraced his love for music and taught himself to play the trumpet. He played by ear, never learning to read sheet music. Joe loved to entertain and for 59 years, blessed us with his talents playing with The Dutch Boys, The Country Dutchmen, Polka Pals, Sentimental Sounds and many others. We all enjoyed the endless dances and parades. We will forever treasure the memories made at the Ponda, County Line, Carls and Vics.

As any successful farmer needs to be, Joe was both ambitious and resourceful. He never sat still, his mind was always thinking. It wasn't until his retirement that he chose to really let his creativity shine. An immaculate yard, cabin in Minong, endless cords of wood were not enough.... and therefore, Hilltop Golf became a reality. Many regulars enjoyed the private 5 hole/ 7 fairway course followed by a cold drink and the camaraderie up in his silo/gazebo. Giving back to the community, Joe enlisted help from family and friends to host two successful scholarship parties raising funds for future graduates.

In his spare time Joe loved history, reading, golf, cutting wood, wood working, deer hunting, polka music and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. His memories and stories of days gone by entertained us all.

Joe leaves to celebrate his memory, his wife, Gerry; son Steve (Beth) Bossany, daughters Sharon (Mick) Meister, Lisa (Jon) Remme, grandchildren Tiffany (Jarad) Muasau, Melissa (Tyler) Naatz, Jordan (Claire) Remme, and Taylor Remme. Great-grandchildren Kal, Cosmo, Aeris and Ender Muasau; Cameron Naatz. Brother David (Joan) Bossany.

Proceeded in death by his parents, John and Mary Bossany. Brothers Steve, John, Ed, Louie and Harry.

Visitation and mass will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chetek on Thursday, July 18, 2024 Visitation from 10:00-11:00, Mass at 11:00. Burial will be held at St Boniface Catholic Cemetery. A light lunch will be served following mass.
