Joseph "Joe" Earl Phelps age 62, of Bruce, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at his home.

Joey was born on October 4, 1963, in Tampa, Florida to Harold and Geraldine (Minske) Phelps.

Joe was a car mechanic most of his life. He started out at Link Brother Motors in Rice Lake, WI. Later he moved to Bruce, Wisconsin where he worked at Toycen Motors. He currently had enjoyed his life at his cabin in the woods. He would often tell stories of his kid’s lives growing up at cabin. He loved the time he spent with them as they played in fall leaf piles, building snowmen and riding their bikes. Walking his wooded property in the evening in hopes of finding “Bigfoot”, was always the running joke with him. We would ask him, did you find Bigfoot yet? He would say I know he’s in there somewhere. We all would laugh.

He loved talking with his friends on a daily basis, watching old movies, especially westerns and action flicks as they were his favorite. He recently built a cute little porch to watch sunsets and sit in the evening around a bonfire. In his retirement he spoke of getting a German Shepherd as a companion. He loved dogs. He was a friend you could count on. He will be sadly, missed by his friends and family especially his siblings.

Joe is survived by a son, Andrew Phelps; 2 daughters, Emily and Sara Phelps; siblings, Deborah (Mike) Dowd, Steve Phelps, Linda (Bob) Jackson, Tami (Robert) Kline Watters and Many nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Geraldine Phelps.

A private burial will be held March 21st, 2026, for immediate family only.
