September 14, 1948 - February 22, 2018

Joseph P. Miller, 69, of Trego, WI., formerly of Naperville, IL. died peacefully at his home Thursday, February 22, 2018, of cancer. He was born September 14, 1948 to his late parents Joe Ann and J.P. Miller. Beloved father to Terra Onken (Dennis) and Joseph Paul Harris-Miller (Dominque) and loving “Papa” to Alethia, Adyson, Cole, Aiyana, Diana, and Dennis. Joe is survived by his sisters Jody Sorkin, Janet Sanger, Jamie Miller (sil) and many nieces and nephews. Joseph was a graduate of Naperville Central High School (1967).  He spent much of his life in Frankfort, Indiana Des Moines, Iowa and Naperville, Illinois before making his way to his beloved North Woods.  As a master carpenter he was a natural artisan who could create masterpieces with wood. He spent his life treasuring nature, it’s resources, beauty, and serenity.  Joe loved hunting, fishing, hiking, camping and finding and restoring classic automobiles. He will be remembered for his quick smile, his ease in the kitchen, his grilling prowess, and his great bonfires. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jay. In lieu of flowers the family is taking donations for a lasting tribute to be made in his name.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Mac Lake Tavern, N10202 County Highway K, in Trego, Wisconsin, March 3rd from 2pm-9pm. Family and close friends Burial Service will be Friday, March 9, 2018 at The Natural Path Sanctuary, 2299 Spring Rose Road, Verona, Wisconsin from 10:30 am to 11:15 am. followed by another Life of Celebration at Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House, 55 South Main Street, Naperville, Illinois from  6pm to 10pm (March 9).  For additional information, contactterra@yahoo.com.
