In Memory of Josephine Romanowski

Josephine Dorothy Romanowski Age 78, of Rice Lake, WI died Friday May 24, 2019 at Woodstone Assisted Living in Rice Lake.

She was born on February 6, 1941 in Rice Lake to Joseph and Mary (Shimek) Uchytil and graduated from the Rice Lake High School in 1959 Josephine was married to Marvin Romanowski on August 1, 1959 in Haugen, WI. They dairy farmed in Haugen, Brill and Weyerhaeuser, she enjoyed being a homemaker and then made many friends at Birchwood Manufacturing and Wright Products. She was known for her baked goods, especially kolaches and tea rings; helping with church dinners and blood drives, enjoyed gardening, waltzing with her Marvin and she loved everyone she met.

She is survived by her 3 children, James Romanowski of Cumberland, WI, Sharon (Dale) Anderson of Chandler, Arizona & Mary (Chris) Olsen of Rice Lake; 5 grandchildren, Joshua and Jenna Romanowski, Christopher Anderson, Mackenzie and Thomas Olsen; a sister, Rose Nelson of Sarona, WI; Joseph (Sandy) Uchytil of Birchwood, WI; many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Romanowski on April 24, 2019; her parents, Joseph and Mary Uchytil; 4 sisters, Marie (Nick) Librande, Frances (John) Prock, Helen (George) Zalesny and Irene (Ben) Konop; and a brother-in-law, Norman Nelson.

A Mass of Christian Burial for both Josephine and Marvin will be held at 11AM Friday, May 31, 2019 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Cameron, WI, Father Bala Policetty officiating, with interment in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Weyerhaeuser, WI at 2PM. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Thursday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service on Friday at the Church.
