Joyce Lillian Flesch, age 99, of Cumberland, passed away on July 30, 2026 at Dove Healthcare. She was born May 3, 1927 in Cedar Rapids, WI to Oscar and Lillian (Crawford) Pearson.

She was married in St. Mary's Catholic Church on April 7, 1951 to William Flesch, who preceded her in death on August 9, 2010.

Joyce and Bill spent most of their adult lives in the Cumberland area. During their time together, Joyce managed to be both a successful homemaker - creating three meals a day from scratch (+ dessert!) for five kids, as well as a valued employee, most recently for 3M. No one was a stranger in her home, as she treated all of her in-laws like one of her own. All holidays together with Joyce as their host were special, but Thanksgiving especially was a family favorite.

Her fun side was displayed in her love of dominoes, bingo, and trying her luck (of which she never seemed to run out of!) at the slot machines. Knowing this fun side, she made friends everywhere she went. She always found time to cheer on the Packers and Brewers, and even remembered them fondly in some of her last moments.

A natural giver, she spent 30 years as a volunteer at the Senior Center in Cumberland.

Needless to say, Joyce was a fantastic mom, a remarkable grandmother, and adored "GG" to her great-grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Dan (Joan) Flesch, David Flesch, and John (Abigail) Flesch, two daughters, Karen (Rollie) Torkelson, and Jeanien (James) Ristow; grandchildren, Avalon (Matthew) Ahlers, Emily (Joshua) Weichsel, Philip (Lindsay) Flesch and Phoebe Flesch (Logan); and great-grandchildren, Avery and Eliana; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; grandson, Jonathan Flesch; siblings, Gladys, Ivy, Fran, Phil, Fred, Floyd, Dale, and Donna.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday August 6, 2026 at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Cumberland Senior Center.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to both Dove Healthcare of Rice Lake, and Marshfield Hospice for their excellent care.
