In Memory of Julia Hobbs

March 13, 1931 - February 18, 2023

Born to Leo and Sophie Supper, Julia Hobbs passed away peacefully at home February 18, 2023.

She entered the Navy at the age of eighteen and became a dental technician. It was there that she met Larry Hobbs and they were married shortly after she finished her Navy duty. They both wished for a large family and were blessed to bear and raise twelve children. Her love of God and her Catholic Faith was a constant hallmark of her life. She would never miss Mass on a Sunday or Holiday, and when her duties permitted, she faithfully attended daily Mass for many years. By her prayers, good example and diligent instruction, she, with Larry passed on that gift of the Faith to her children and grandchildren. While she had friends outside of the family, she always considered her family to be her friends and enjoyed the time she spent with them. She delighted in visits from children and grandchildren and in the wonderful gift of every new life. In every way that she could she fought the evil of abortion. In the midst of the toils of life, she was cheerful and content. One of her favorite pastimes was gardening. She loved growing flowers and vegetables. She nurtured houseplants through the winter and was ready to get out in her garden at the first sign of spring.

She is predeceased by her parents, Leo and Sophie, her sister Betty Lucier, and her nephew Stephen Lucier. Those left to mourn her loss, as they rejoice with her as she answers God’s call to eternal life, are her loving husband, Larry, her children, Lucy (Tom) Kreps, Theresa (Andrew) Livingston, Sheila (Eugene) Delgaudio, Tina, Julie (David) Vandergrift, John (Missy), Kathy (Mike) Kilduff, Angie (Mike) Minwegen, Beth (Craig) Jalbert, Matthew (Nicole), Mark and Luke (Catherine). She also leaves to mourn 73 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren, and her brother Joe. We take to heart her frequent advice to surrender to Jesus with prayer, “Jesus, I surrender myself to You, take care of everything.”
