
In Memory of Karen F. Linnell
Karen Fae Linnell, 73, of Comstock passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026 at her home. She was born November 11, 1952 to Delbert and Helen (Waltner) Dick of Marion, SD. She was married on May 21, 1977 to James Linnell. She is survived, remembered, and loved by husband, Jim; children, Eric (Ashley) Linnell, and Amy (Luke) Cain; four grandchildren, Annie, Lucy, Theo, and Josie; siblings, Jim (Teresa) Dick, Jo (Dennis) Brewer, and Don Dick; brother-in-law Norm (Carol) Linnell; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Karen will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and devotion to those around her. As the cornerstone of the family, she provided unconditional love, guidance, and support. Together with her husband, Jim, they purchased and successfully operated a beautiful dairy farm while raising their two children, building a life rooted in hard work, faith, and family.
Karen later built a meaningful career as a financial representative, where she was known for her integrity and desire to help others. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she was an active member of her church and community, always ready to serve and support. She found joy in tending her garden, creating beautiful quilts, scrapbooking, lake time, and spending treasured moments with her husband, children, grandchildren, and many friends. Her life was a reflection of selflessness, perseverance, service, and love, and she will live on in the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 11, 2026, at First Lutheran Church in Cumberland with Pastor Tim Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Friday, July 10, 2026 at Skinner Funeral Home, and one hour before the service at First Lutheran Church.
