In Memory of Kay F. Winger


November 4, 1941 - October 23, 2025

Kay Frances Winger, 83, of Turtle Lake died, October 23, 2025, surround by her family in Rochester, MN. She was born November 4, 1941, in Crookston, MN to Myron and Frances (Urness) Chapman.

She was married in Crookston, MN on April 18, 1957, at the Chapman Farm to Richard Winger who preceded her in death on September 6, 2004. Kay graduated high school.

She served her country for many years as a military wife, while moving around the country to the different military bases Richard was stationed at all while raising her children. Following his retirement, they settled in Turtle Lake where she would later work at New Frontier, Brenemans and finally Twin Town Cheese as a supervisor.

Kay absolutely loved spending time with her children, all her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In her free time she enjoyed rummy, puzzles, crosswords puzzles, feeding the squirrels, sunshine, warm weather and being cozied up at home.

She is survived by her three sons: Curtis (Jan) Winger of Rice Lake, Arlo Winger and Corey Winger both of Turtle Lake; two daughters: Abby (Richard) Swantish and Amy (Brad) Peterson, both of Turtle Lake; 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; a few bonus great grandchildren; siblings: Audrey Wilson of Rice Lake, and Keith Chapman of San Jose, CA; nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Winger; parents: Myron and Frances Chapman; brothers: Miles and Kenley Chapman; sister, Myra Chapman; daughter, Cindy Winger; and grandsons: Derek and Dylan Swantish.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, Nov 1, 2025, at Skinner Funeral Home, Turtle Lake. Visitation will begin at 10 AM.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made out to Hafslo Cemetery in Crookston, MN.
