Keith Richard Crosby of Webster, WI, passed away on July 25, 2026, at home with his wife and family by his side.

He was born on May 1, 1947, to Oris “Bud” and Amelia “Millie” (Lewis) Crosby in Frederic, WI. He welcomed home his twin sisters Janice and Linda 18 months later and his sister Cheryl 9 years later. When he was young, he spent a lot of time with his grandmother Mary Crosby on the farm and was in 4H. When he was in the 8th grade, he started working in the coach’s office doing paperwork and took training to wrap sprains, etc. He also worked summers in the Webster Bakery making donuts and washing dishes.

He enlisted in the Navy in the spring of 1965 and graduated from Webster High School in 1965 before leaving for the Navy in June. He spent 7 years in the Navy and was a missile technician and served with the Armed Forces Police in Boston for a year. While in the Navy, he served aboard the USS Talbot and USS Vancouver. He was discharged from the Navy in June of 1972. He went to the old Control Data Institute and from there went to work for Iowa Beef Processors in Iowa and in Amarillo, Texas.

In 1976, he met the love of his life, Connie (Leef) Crosby, and they were married on May 23, 1992. They were not blessed to have children of their own; they did have 8 nephews and nieces, 17 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-greats.

He worked other jobs and then was at K-Wood Truss Rafters for 24 years. After retiring from there, he worked at the Log Cabin Store in the gun department, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Keith loved to hunt and would hunt with a rifle, bow, and black powder.

Over the years, he shot many white-tailed deer, mule deer, and antelope. He also shot a Russian Boar, Mouflon Ram, Corsican Ram, Bear, a Buffalo and Turkey. In addition to his out west hunting buddies, Rod Wilson and Dan Dyson, he enjoyed hunting with Tom J, Tom B, Russell, his oldest great niece Megan, and great Nephew Gunner. He also enjoyed watching the wildlife in their backyard.

Keith was very involved with the Spooner Boy Scout Troop and helped them with many fundraisers, shooting badges, and other activities. He was also the President of the Indianhead Pistol and Rifle Club and was the Treasurer for Northwest Wisconsin White Tails. He taught Hunters Education for many years and shot in several archery leagues. He was an all-around good guy and helped any family or friends who needed it.

Keith was a very proud Veteran and a member of the Danbury American Legion, the Honor Guard, and the AM VETS, and helped with many of their fundraisers.

Keith is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his parents, Oris “Bud” and Amelia “Millie” Crosby, his sister Janice, brother-in-laws Greg and Steve Weiser, father and mother-in-law Russell and Betty Leef, sister-in-law Karen (Leef) Ennis, Stepmother Orma (Engstrom) Crosby and stepbrother Wayne Engstrom. He will be sadly missed by his wife Connie, sisters Linda and Cheryl, brothers-in-law: Tom Ennis and Mike Heier, his nephews, nieces, greats, great-greats as well as many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Brian Wieser, Tom B Ennis, Gunner Ennis, Chris Vaksdal, Megan Crosby, and Luke Robotti. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom J Ennis, Ayden Robotti, Phil Ingram, Kyle Ingram, Jim Shives, and Matt Christner. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 2nd, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Webster from 4-7 pm.

The Funeral will be Monday, August 3rd, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Internment will be at the Spooner Cemetery in Spooner Wi.
