In Memory of Kelly J. Asp


June 30, 1974 - February 23, 2025

Kelly James Asp, aged 50, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at his residence in Stanberry, WI. He was born on June 30, 1974, in Spooner, WI, the son of Leslie and Linda (Holly) Asp.

Kelly was a welder by trade. Kelly worked as a welder for Smokercraft when they were operating in Minong, WI. He most recently worked as a heavy equipment operator and maintenance for Johnson Timber. Kelly had a good heart all his life, always willing to help everyone. He shared his home with many of his friends. He loved the Northwoods and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, and his side-by-side. He was an animal lover all his life.

He is survived by this parents, Leslie and Linda Asp of Springbrook, WI; his brother, Scott (Heather) Asp of Hayward, WI; his niece and nephews, Cody, Cole, and Callie Asp; his cousins, Teddy Asp, Albert Asp, Melanie Billings, Tad Asp, Tim Asp, David Asp, Clayton Asp, Travis Asp, Don Kramer, Todd Kramer, Lisa Roething, Don Cameron, Virgie Lebrun, Kim Shelton, Jamie Holly; his Aunts and Uncles, Louis and Sandy Holly, Cable, WI, Don and Pat Cameron, Springbrook, WI, Jennifer and Darwin Mitchell, Casper, Wyoming; Clayton and Marty Asp, Springbrook, WI, Mike Kramer, Gillette, Wyoming, Maxine Moyer, Hayward, WI, and Judy Farley, Hayward, WI. Kelly’s extended family, Don Robb and his children, Shelby, Tatum and Jericho; and his faithful companion, his dog, Walter.

He is preceded in death by his cousins, Mary Cameron and Kenneth Asp; grandparents, Jim and Mary Holly, Preston and Grace Asp; and uncle, Martin Asp.

A celebration of life will be held from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM, on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the Hayward Veterans Center, 10534 Main, Hayward, WI, and a short remembrance service before lunch. Interment will be held privately.
