In Memory of Kenneth E. Ogren


April 28, 1950 - May 28, 2024

Kenneth E. Ogren, 74, of Chetek, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024 at Regions hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota of natural causes.

Ken served in the United States Air Force, based in Biloxi, Mississippi during hurricane Camille, the deadliest hurricane to ever make landfall if he is to be believed. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and a Master of Science degree, specializing in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Ken moved to Topeka, Kansas with his family in 1984, where he headed the vocational rehabilitation department at the Menninger Foundation. He enjoyed coaching his children in basketball in addition to his other interests that included fishing, hunting, using power tools, and a decorated membership in the River Rats. Ken returned home to Luck, Wisconsin in 1992, opening his own business as a vocational consultant at the Wisconsin Return to Work Center. He provided expert opinions on injury and disability cases for the next thirty years. Ken maintained his commitment to youth sports in Polk County with a board membership at the Youth Sports Unlimited banquet. Ken was the life of the party and thoroughly enjoyed his friendships. He was locally known for his homemade pizza.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ruth Ogren (Sevall), his brother Harry, and wife Joy (Hansen).

Ken is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joann (Pozarski) and their three loving children Jens, Jesse (Erin) and Amanda, and dearest grandfather to Kalvin and Micah Ogren. He is further survived by his siblings Dennis and Susan (Mierow), and many lifelong friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Rowe Funeral Home in Frederic, Wisconsin on June 6, 2024 from 5 pm to 7 pm.
