In Memory of Kenneth "Ken" Hoecherl

September 11, 1942 - December 30, 2025

Kenneth Hoecherl, 83, of Spooner, passed away at Barron Hospital on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Ken was born on September 11, 1942, in Spooner, WI to August and Marie (Spaude) Hoecherl. He attended Crystal Lake Grade School and graduated from Spooner High School in 1960. On February 2, 1974, Ken married Gloria Lantow and they built their forever home on his childhood farm in 1975. He started his working years, outside of the farm, at the Spooner Gambles store. He then started working at Spooner Tire & Electric in 1963.

Ken purchased the business in 1971, and it later became Ken’s Tire Service until his retirement in 2000. Ken was happiest whenever he was cutting wood, hobby farming, deer hunting, fishing or going to tractor shows. As the years went by one of his favorite pastimes was sharing old stories with his grandkids and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Spooner Chamber of Commerce, rodeo committee, and the Jaycees. Ken was also a lifelong active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Spooner.

He is survived by his wife Gloria; children Karen (Chuck) Hoffman, Sarona, WI, Sharon (Russ) Crozier, Pahrump, NV, Steven (Jenny) Hoecherl, Bloomer, WI; stepchildren Deborah Rabideau, Rice Lake, WI, and Tina (Todd) Stephens, Rice Lake, WI; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Ronald Rabideau.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00am at Faith Lutheran Church W7148 Luther Rd. Spooner, WI. Friends and family may visit the church on Saturday from 9:00am until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Anah Cemetery following the luncheon.
