In Memory of Laureen “Laurie” White


March 2, 1954 - October 26, 2025

Laureen “Laurie” (Reed) White, age 71, of Bruce, WI died Sunday, October 26, 2025 at home in the care of Hospice and her family. She was born on Tuesday, March 2, 1954 to Willafried (Underhill) and Glen Reed in Chicago, IL.

Laurie resided in Kenosha County until 2003 when she moved to Northern Wisconsin (Rice Lake/Bruce area). Laurie married the love of her life David White in 1982 and they raised 7 children and many foster children.

Laurie was extremely creative and enjoyed planning large events. She was known for her ability to plan beautiful weddings and events for loved ones; as well as many community and church events.

Laurie loved to garden, loved the Packers, hunting and was passionate about scrapbooking and fantasy football. Laurie was also passionate about helping children. She spent her professional life not only as a foster parent but was the owner of Busy Bees Childcare Center and Northern Wisconsin Family Support Services where she worked as a parent aide and therapy assistant until 2019.

Though Laurie had many medical challenges she believed her life to be blessed. She was extremely loved by her grandkids, children, many friends and her devoted husband.

The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice for their kindness and care during Laurie’s battle with cancer.

She is survived by husband, David White; children, Hollie (Bill) Birch, Bill (Michelle) Davis, Jessica White, Rebecca (Jake) Melka, Carrine (Jared) Baldwin, Jake (Melissa) White and Justice White; grandchildren, Will and Nate Birch, Adeline and Max Davis, Sayla and Brennan Wilken, Emmerson, Isaac and Montana Fane, Kylie, Josh and Danny Melka, Daverick, Grace, Charlotte and Sophia White; brother, Brian Reed; sister-in-law’s, cousins, nieces, nephews and foster children.

Preceded in death by mother, Willafried Digby and father, Glen Reed; mother-in-law, Jewell White and father-in-law, Don White; brother-in-law, Danny White; and niece, Ashlee Reed.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 @ 11:00 AM at Red Cedar Church in Rice Lake, WI, Rev. Todd Arneson officiating, with interment to follow in the Meadow Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will begin @ 9:00 AM on Saturday at the Church.
