In Memory of Lavone A. Lindblad


March 28, 1953 - May 2, 2025

Lavone Adelle (Waterhouse) Lindblad, age 72, of Chetek, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 2nd surrounded by her loving family. Lavone was born in Rice Lake, WI on March 28, 1953. She was the youngest daughter of Howard and Charlotte Waterhouse.

Lavone lived in Rice Lake for several of her elementary school years and then moved to Sand Creek. She would often recall her wonderful years in Sand Creek where she ran freely with friends through town in the summer months and swam in the river. Lavone lived her middle and high school years in Chetek and graduated from Chetek High School in 1971. While in high school, Lavone began dating the love of her life, Rick Lindblad. Before marriage, Lavone lived with friends in Rice Lake while attending college. Lavone loved to reminisce about their fun times together. Rick and Lavone were married on August 11, 1973, and began their lives together in Chetek where they raised their family and lived for the duration of their married lives. Lavone spent her working career at ChetekState Bank, Northwest Telephone Company, Chibardun Telephone, and Mosaic in Cameron. She had many wonderful friends at work and continued her relationships with them far beyond the years at the office.

Lavone’s true joy in life was her family. Her husband, children and their spouses, and four grandchildren were her world. She was a truly devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Lavone was a beautiful and caring person and was loved by so many; she will be sadly missed. She loved socializing with friends from all stages of life including her Card Club gals, high school friends, and work friends whom she regularly met for hours-long coffee chats. Lavone loved gardening, watching the birds, feeding her hummingbirds, reading, traveling, family traditions, and spending as much time with family as possible. Lavone was a great storyteller and loved to reminisce about her life. She enjoyed many wonderful vacations throughout her lifetime and loved to share stories over the years of her trips. Her memories will live on through her family and all those she shared her stories with.

Lavone is survived by her husband, Rick; her children, Amber (Lee) Jacobsonof Rochester, MN, and Josh (Megan) Lindblad of Eau Claire, WI; four grandchildren (Shawn and Mya Jacobson of Rochester, MN, and Claire and GraceLindblad of Eau Claire, WI); sister, Linda (Virgil) Amundson of Spooner, WI; brother, Lynn (Marion) Waterhouse of Colorado Springs, CO; sister-in-law, Julie (Greg) Childs of Chippewa Falls, WI as well as severalnieces and nephews.

Lavone was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and CharlotteWaterhouse; brother, Loren “Bunny” Waterhouse; father and mother-in-law, Russell and Liz Lindblad; brothers-in-law, Dennis and Jerry Lindblad as well as many aunts and uncles.

A private burial service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery. A public celebration of Life will be held at a later date in early summer with details available in the near future shared in the Chetek Alert and on the Burnham-Ours Funeral Home website.
