Lee Steven Martinson, age 76, of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Born on November 15, 1949, in Amery, Wisconsin, to Donald and Ida Martinson, Lee grew up in Wanderoos and graduated from Amery High School in 1967.

On June 8, 1974, Lee was united in marriage to Mary Margaret Harris. Together, they built a loving life and raised two children. He worked for more than 40 years at Doboy, where his dedication, strong work ethic, and quiet reliability earned the respect of everyone around him.

Beyond his career, Lee enjoyed playing fastpitch softball for Wanderoos and later slowpitch softball for Mike’s Place in New Richmond. He also found great joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping, and he and Mary spent more than 40 years camping along the Yellow River. Many cherished memories were made there—fishing on the river, spending evenings around the campfire, and sharing countless hunting and fishing stories. Lee held a special fondness for Orr, Minnesota, and the stories from that area were among his favorites to tell, always with a sparkle in his eye.

In his later years, Lee especially treasured his role as a grandfather to his four granddaughters. He was their biggest supporter and number one fan, taking great pride in each of them and celebrating all they accomplished.

Lee will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Mary; his children, Matt (Paige) Martinson and Sara (Brent) McCurdy; and his granddaughters, Hannah Martinson, Addie McCurdy, Emily McCurdy, and Brianna McCurdy. He is also survived by his siblings, Ronald Martinson, Sue Olson, Mike (Janet) Martinson, and Chris (Sally) Martinson; his sisters-in-law, Julie (Paul) Cegla and Cindy (Gordie) MacLennan; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ida Martinson; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Edward and Julia Harris; his brothers-in-law, Elden Jurgensen, Herman “Lee” Olson, and Gerald Harris.

Lee’s legacy lives on through the love of his family, the friendships he cherished, the stories he shared, and the many memories made in the outdoors. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, unwavering devotion to those he loved, and the example he set for all who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Lee Steven Martinson will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 6th, 2026, at Church of St. Joseph, 490 Bench Street, in Taylors Falls, MN 55084.
