In Memory of Lee W. Danker

November 18, 1961 - July 22, 2022

It is with sad hearts that we share the passing of Lee Danker on Friday, July 22. Lee fought pancreatic cancer for almost 4 years and passed peacefully surrounded by family at home on Lake Owen. Lee was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and great uncle.

He was born on November 18, 1961, in Barcelona Spain.

Lee graduated from Campolindo High School. Then he graduated from Fresno State in 1984. Lee enjoyed television and worked for channels 30 and 47 in Fresno in the 1980’s. Lee started working at Macy’s in 1987. In 2003 he became a personal shopper. His coworkers and many customers became dear lifelong friends. He retired in 2021.

Lee was passionate about animal welfare. He was especially concerned about the feral cat population in Fresno. He dedicated his time and resources towards those causes. He even received the 2019 Animal Advocate Award from Valley Animal Shelter. Lee was a compassionate person. In addition to animals, Lee cared about children and those less fortunate. He has been an active contributor to the Big Brother Big Sister Annual Coat Drive in Fresno. He also handed out water and/ or goodie bags to the homeless.
Lee led an active lifestyle. When he was not at work or helping others, he enjoyed traveling, gardening, going to movies, watching TV, eating, and napping. Mostly he enjoyed spending time with people.
