In Memory of Lester Harder
Lester Harder, 79, passed away on September 19, 2025.
Lester grew up with a deep love for the outdoors, where he found peace whether hunting, working on one of his many projects, or simply enjoying nature’s beauty.
A man of quiet strength, Lester built his life on hard work and simple pleasures. He believed in putting in a full day’s work, keeping his word, and finding contentment in little things – whether it was a good meal, seeing friends, a sunset view, or the steady rhythm of a job well done.
He was an avid hunter who cherished his time with a rifle or bow. He was a craftsman and problem solver. He was very proud of his well-kept lawn, and was committed to keeping every piece of equipment he had well maintained and clean.
He looked forward to starting his day having coffee with friends, telling his hunting stories, catching up on local news, and made sure everyone’s cup was always filled to the brim. And when the day’s work was finished, he could often be found in his favorite chair, watching old westerns that told stories as honest as he was. He didn’t need fancy things to be happy; he found calmness in the kind of life that he thought too many folks today forget how to live – steady, simple, and true.
Lester leaves behind his wife Susan; brother: Gerald (Sandy) Harder; daughters: Amber (Randy) Gordon, Kris Harder, Nichole (Jeff) Reed, Leslie (Greg) Davidson; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. All of them will always remember him as a man with a sharp wit and who valued honesty, loyalty, and the kind of hard-earned pride that comes only from working with your hands.
No funeral. No services. Les didn’t want that.
