Psalm 9:10 “Those who know your name trust in you, for you Lord have never forsaken those who seek you.”

This is a verse that Lida Mangelsen Nordquist had highlighted in her Bible. She greeted Jesus on Monday, July 20, 2026. Lida was born into a big, bustling family on July 5, 1942. She was baptized and received her confirmation at Coomer Memorial Church Lida remained steadfast in her faith, regardless of circumstances, her entire life.

She graduated from Siren High School. She married the love of her life, Donald Nordquist, on May 18, 1963.

Lida and Don lived in the Twin Cities for a few years before they bought the TV Repair Store in Frederic in 1970. It was a leap of faith that paid off.

In the meantime, they welcomed Joleen in 1965 and Janice in 1968. Lida and Don moved to Shell Lake to retire before Don died. Later, she lived in Siren and Frederic. After a nasty fall, she moved to Glenview Assisted Living in Shell Lake. They were absolutely wonderful to her, and she enjoyed living near her sister Marlene.

Lida was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents Henry and Lida Mangelsen; her siblings Jess, Inez, Nina, Donna, Nick, Henry, and two infant brothers, Kenny and Donald.

Lida is survived by her daughters, Joleen (Richard) and Janice (Jim); her grandchildren Rick (Angela) Funk, Robb Funk, Randi Fisk (Nathan), Caleb Schott, and Hannah Schott. She will be missed by her great-grandchildren Warren and Quinn Funk, and Axyl and Zatha Fisk; siblings Marlene Swearingen, Gerry Mangelsen (Nina), and so many other family and friends.

We will miss everything about her, but especially her faith, her silliness, and her unequivocal love.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Rowe Funeral Home (101 Cedar St W, Frederic, WI 54837). A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Faith Lutheran Church (W7148 Luther Rd, Spooner, WI 54801) with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. A lunch at church and the burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Hertel, WI.
