In Memory of Linda L. Gillitzer

March 21, 1952 - June 30, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Lou Gillitzer, who departed this life peacefully on June 30th at the age of 72. Born on March 21, 1952, in Stillwater. Linda led a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family.

Linda married the love of her life, Thomas Anthony Gillitzer, in 1970. Together, they built a beautiful family, welcoming their first child, Guy Arthur Gillitzer, in the same year. Over the next four years, they were blessed with two more children Nikki Mae Gillitzer (Gehrke) and Misty Marie Gillitzer (Connolly) completing their loving family.

Linda's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Linda played an instrumental role in helping to raise her grandchildren: Dani, Kyrsten, Hailey, Heather, Anthony, Dakota, Kasidy, and Lucas. She also doted on her great-grandchildren: Landon (Chaz and Dani Smallwood) Ava and Eleanor (Tyler and Hailey Isaacson), Loretta (Brandon and Heather Wallace) and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her fifth great grandchild (Dawson and Kasidy Johnson) at the end of July.

Linda had many passions that brought joy to her life. She loved to read, fish, and garden. She had a special fondness for romance novels and enjoyed creating beautiful pieces of diamond art. Above all, her family was her greatest passion and pride.

Linda's warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Linda is survived by her Life Partner, Thomas Gillitzer, children, Guy (Cheryl) Gillitzer, Nikki Gehrke, and Misty (Brian) Connolly, grandchildren, Kyrsten, Dakota, Danielle (Chaz), Kasidy (Dawson), Lucas, Hailey (Tyler), Heather (Brandon), and Anthony, great-grandchildren, Ava, Eleanor, Loretta and, Landon and a baby boy on the way, siblings, Melody (Sheldon) Chris (Jan), Carla (Joe), Mike (Robbin), Marty, Tammy (Dan), nieces, nephews and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Arden Lodahl, mother and stepfather, Donna Mae and Hubert Thurmes, and siblings, Rondie, Lloyd, Brian and Russ.

A visitation to honor Linda's life will be held on July 13, 2024, beginning at 10 am with a service to follow at 11 am at Joy Lutheran Church in Centuria, WI. Family and friends are invited to attend and share their memories. Please join the family for lunch following the service.

Linda Lou Gillitzer will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her love and light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she left behind.
