In Memory of Lloyd D. Snyder

June 6, 1936 - January 24, 2025

Lloyd Dean Snyder, age 88, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025. He was born June 6, 1936 in Black Creek, NY to Hubert Aaron Snyder and Annabelle Frances (Ecker) Snyder. He was the oldest of 11 kids: Lloyd, Millie, Alice, Mary Ann, Eddy, Thomas, Linda, Richard, Penny, Kathy and Rosie. He married Rose (Csuti – Brock) Snyder June 18, 1971 in McKinley, WI—and promptly went on their honeymoon to California with their five kids in a station wagon.

Lloyd served in the US Air Force from 1953 to 1958. He was a Korean War Veteran, later stationed in Holland. He was an engineer by trade. Amongst his other accomplishments, he was also a private pilot and owner of Eagle Aviation and Design Travel Agency, in Cumberland, Wisconsin. He became an officer at Falcon Drill Inc. prior to his retirement, and even after retirement worked at various companies.

Lloyd loved his family and helping others. He was known for his whistling, and his sense of humor. And, as the old saying goes, he never knew a stranger.

He loved to fix things and was always working on a project, like building an airplane or working on a car engine, and he could repair anything. No project was too big for him. Lloyd really enjoyed the Crazy 8 Group and had many stories and adventures he liked to share.

In the past few years, Lloyd suffered with bladder and lung cancer and had a rare form of leukemia – T-Cell Prolymphocytic. Despite his condition, he never let it dull his humor.

He is survived by his wife Rose (Csuti – Brock) Snyder; children, Ron Brock, Cindy Rouzer (Tom), Deb Lyrek (Greg), Summer Snyder, Gayle Strawn (Troy), Donna House (David), Steve Snyder, Randy Snyder (Natalie); and honorary children, Mike and Jenny Young, Roy Peterson (Renee) and Todd Bents; grandchildren, Katie Baumann (Kyle), Mike Rouzer (Mandy), Tricia Rouzer (Mark Hanson), Eric Rouzer (Keri), Adam Strawn (Tania), Jenny Raines (Andy Stock), Samantha Warwick (Marc Hauge), Jackie Warwick (Jaimie Fischer), Jessica Rhodes (Don), Mishel House (Stephen Washington), Justin House (Ally Joy), Shawn Brock, Boomer Brock; twenty-three great grandchildren, with two on the way; and nine siblings.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Annabelle Snyder; sons, John Brock, Cecil Brock and Francis Brock; grandson Bryan Brock; daughter-in-law, Joy Brock; son-in-law, John Warwick; and brother, Eddy Snyder.

A private family celebration is being held. A public visitation—but in Lloyd’s case, it will be a celebration of a great life—will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 5:00 PM.

Interment Lakeside Cemetery, Cumberland.
