Lois Elaine Johnson Age 82, of Barron, WI, died Sunday, November 26, 2023 in Eau Claire, WI.

She was born on September 12, 1941 in Turtle Lake, WI to William and Henrietta (Kin) Nagel.

Lois was married to Arthur Johnson and they later divorced. She was a graduate of Turtle Lake High School in 1961 and worked and lived in the Barron County area. She owned and operated Wee Care Day Care for 5 years, was also a factory worker, crossing guard, a waitress, dishwasher, and worked for amusement parks. She loved the Bible and taught Sunday school. Lois enjoyed hand crocheting blankets for operation Santa, for her friends, family and for the hospitals.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Johnson very tragically at the age of 20. She was the love of her life.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Henrietta Nagel; 5 brothers, William, Albert, Roger, LeRoy and Douglas; 2 sisters, Linda Kahl and Beverly Williams.

She is survived by a son, Douglas (Holly) NaGel; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Nagel; a sister, Janice Huehn; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cumberland, WI, Rev. John Miels officiating, with interment in Lakeside Cemetery in Cumberland, WI. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is serving and assisting the family with the arrangements.
