In Memory of Lonette A. Patterson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lonette Ann Patterson on August 19, 2025.
Lonnie was born October 8, 1955, to Michael (Mickey) and Elizabeth (Betty) Radwanski at St. Mary’s Hospital in Ladysmith, WI. Lonnie grew up on the family farm in Hawkins, WI, and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hawkins for many years. She went to Ladysmith High School and completed school early in Madison, WI to graduate in 1972. After graduation, she had moved to Norfolk, VA and Puerto Rico, but eventually returned to the Rusk County/Chippewa County area in the late 1970’s.
After moving back to WI, Lonnie devoted her time to raising her 3 children, stepping into various roles including being a Girl Scout troop leader. Along with being a dedicated and loving mother, she also enjoyed raising purebred Samoyeds and English Spring Spaniels and was affiliated with the American Kennel Club. In the early 1990’s, she pursued her education to become a registered nurse and graduated from Chippewa Valley Technical College in 1994. Lonnie was a very talented nurse and had a gift for serving others. She worked many of her years at L.E. Phillips Treatment Center in Chippewa Falls, before retiring in 2017.
In her free time, Lonnie enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was very proud of them all. Lonnie had a love for her pets, as well, and always had a canine companion. She had a deep affinity for nature that started during her childhood. From barrel-racing on her horse Blaze, to many years of raising puppies, to her trip to Canada with close friends to see the polar bears, to just simply enjoying watching the deer and other wildlife that would come to her yard- she appreciated it all.
Lonnie had a very talented artistic side which included drawing, writing short stories, photographing wildlife and impressive seamstress abilities. She was able to sew anything from wedding dresses to Halloween costumes. She enjoyed gardening and was able to make amazing home canned goods from pickles, to sauerkraut, to jellies. Lonnie had a light-hearted spirit, she always liked a good joke and being able to make people laugh. Her sense of humor and kind soul will be deeply missed.
Lonnie valued her family above all and was always there with open arms for friends as well. She is survived by her three children, son Michael (Jennifer) Patterson (granddaughters Kayla and Ashley), daughter Angelique Frisch (grandsons Austin (Rachel), Wyatt, Tristan; & great grandson Grayson), and daughter Cortney Patterson (grandson Logan); her sister Nana (Rod) Brenner and nephews Kevin (Jill) Brenner and Corey (Marti) Brenner.
