Lora Lea Metheny, age 64, of Greybull, Wyoming, formerly of Rice Lake, WI, died Tuesday, September 29, 2026 in Rice Lake surrounded by her loving family after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on September 2, 1962 in Rice Lake to Richard “Dick” and Lillian “Lil” (Organ) Jacobson.

Lora graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1981 and received an Associate Degree in Administrative Assistant from WITC. She worked for Lakeview Medical Center, ReMax Real Estate, the Rice Lake Fire Department, Rice Lake City Hall and City Hall in Greybull, Wyoming. Lora was married to Ralph Metheny on September 19, 2009 in Rice Lake.

Lora enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking, camping, and going to Amish auctions. She loved being with her family and celebrating life with them all. She started a singles ministry at Red Cedar Church and was very active at Maranatha Evangelical Free Church, Red Cedar Church and the Grace Southern Baptist in Greybull.

Lora had a beautiful spirit and soul and also had a heart of gold. Lora touched everyone’s lives and would lift them up in a very positive way. This world lost one of the most genuine, loving and caring woman that has blessed this earth.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Metheny; her mother, Lil Jacobson; a sister, Ronda (Mike) Buhrmann; 3 nieces, Nicole (Ricky) Gohde, Alyssa (Sam) Peterson and Kayla Buhrmann; a great niece, Olivia; 4 great nephews, Hunter, Gannon, Matthew and Mason.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard “Dick” Jacobson; maternal grandparents, Edgar and Della Organ; and paternal grandparents, Lewis and Alice Coleman.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Friday, October 9, 2026 at Hope Community Church in Cumberland, WI, Rev. Paul Green officiating, with interment in the Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls, WI, with visitation from 4-7PM Thursday, October 8 at the Church.
