
In Memory of Louis L. Nickence
Louis Leroy Nickence, age 74, of Lac Courte Oreilles, WI, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
Louis was born February 19, 1951, in Hayward, WI, the son of Joseph and Bonita (Denomie) Nickence. He was an avid pool shooter and would shoot pool with anyone that challenged him. Lou loved to go camping with his wife and dogs and loved to make his friends laugh with the jokes he told. He worked for LCO Development as a truck driver then went on to work for a private company driving truck all over the United States. Lou would help people whenever he could. He had many skills to do anything he set his mind to.
He is survived by his wife Valerie Rice; son Jason Peter “J.P.”; many grandchildren; brothers John (Linda) Nickence & Joe Nickence; sisters Bonnie (Mike) Alston, Esther Girard & Julie Barber (George) Taylor; many nieces & nephews.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Penny Nickence: grandson Cody Nickence; sisters Elizabeth Nickence & Renee Potack (Don) Totsky; & brother James Peter Nickence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission in Reserve. Father Karunakar Madanu will officiate with music provided by Sister Felissa Zander. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon Tuesday, at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward.
Honorary casket bearers will be Mike Flechsig, Johnnie Hall, Jerry Miller, Jim MacLaughlin, Terry Nelson, Adrian Nickence, Steve Thayer & Don Totsky.
Casket Bearers will be Jason Anderson, Donnie Gokey, Scott Guibord, Danny Price, Tony Price & Jeff Woller.
