
In Memory of Louis “Louie” Hoel Jr.
Louis “Louie” Hoel Jr., age 84, of Fall Creek, WI, died Friday, August 1, 2025 in Altoona, WI. He was born on July 4, 1941 in Cleveland Township, WI to Louis Sr. and Ruby (Ermatinger) Hoel.
Louie graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1959 and then entered the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam Conflict and was Honorably Discharged after 4 years. Louie was married to Susan Dachel and they later divorced, he later married Diane Hagmann. He worked as a machinist for Uniroyal for many years. He loved tinkering with engines, taking them apart and putting them back together. He loved riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing and the Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by 4 children, Patrick (Kristin) Hoel, Kimberly (Andrew) Fredlund, Pamela (Wade) Newell and Eric (Stacy) Hoel; 2 stepchildren, Michelle Hagmann (Tina Kunshier) and Edward (Christine) Hagmann; 7 grandchildren, Alexandra Fredlund, Jacob Fredlund, Sarah Fredlund, Erik Hoel, Marguerite Newell, Tarrah Hoel and Lydia Wallin; 2 step grandchildren, Marie Hagmann and Grace Hagmann; a sister, Muriel Fox; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Hoel; his parents, Ruby and Louis Hoel Sr.; a sister, Ardis Himpel; a brother, Russell Hoel; brother-in-law, William Himpel; a sister-in-law, Bernice Hoel; and a niece, Twyla Himpel.
Graveside Services will be held at 11AM Monday, August 18, 2025 at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI, where Military Rites will be accorded him by Rice Lake Veteran Honor Guard. A reception will be held from 2-4PM Monday, August 18, 2025 at Horizons Lounge in Chippewa Falls, WI. Migwitch Giga-waabamin Menawah - Ojibwe “Thank you, I will see you again.”
