Lucille "Lucy" Ruth Staberg, age 74, of Turtle Lake passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025 at her home, with her husband by her side. She was born February 11, 1951 in Stillwater, MN to Frank and Mary (Schmidt) Hintz.

Lucy and her family lived in the Stillwater area for many years, where she operated an in-home daycare. She welcomed any and everyone into their home, and their house was always the gathering space for the many friends that became family. She was a second mom to many. As her four kids were growing up, her energetic spirit got them all where they needed to go - effortlessly juggling their sports practices and after school events. When she was able to squeeze in some time for herself, she loved to spend it quilting. Later in life, she and her husband Cary made the Turtle Lake area their retirement home. She loved being a grandma to her kiddos, and had a knack for noticing others needs, and quietly filling them.

Lucy leaves behind her husband, Cary; children, Travis (Amanda) Staberg, Sara Staberg, Carla (Chad) Rousu, and Andrew (Laura) Staberg; grandchildren, Landis Spurbeck, Brecken Spurbeck, Russell Rousu, Donovan Rousu, Maverik Rousu, Ariella Rousu, and Alexander Staberg; and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Layla Staberg; parents, Frank and Mary Hintz; and siblings, Margaret Peterson, Ann Roettger, Donald Hintz, and Stanley Hintz.

Lucy wished to have no services, and her family is honoring that wish.
