In Memory of Margaret J. Shives (Gaskell)

July 6, 1932 - January 9, 2025

Margaret "Lovingly GiGi" Jane Shives, age 92, a resident of Webster, WI., passed away on January 9, 2025, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN.

She was born on July 6, 1932, in Fall River, MA to parents John and Mertis Gaskell.

Marge married the love of her life, William “Bill” Shives on June 6, 1953, in Fall River, MA. As a military wife, she traveled all over the states following his Navy career with 3 kids in tow. She was a very strong person, even saving us kids from our house that burned down.

Marge worked as a Home Health Care Aide for Burnett County for 23 years.

She was a member of the Salvation Army Church and the VFW Auxiliary. In her free time, Marge enjoyed bowling and dancing, but most of all she loved being a stay-at-home mom spending time with her loved ones. As the kids grew up and moved away, she would spend winters in Arizona with her siblings and snowbird friends.

Marge is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill; her parents, John and Mertis; her two brothers John and Frank Gaskell, grandson, David John and Rachel Schuneman.

She is survived by children, James Allen (Rita) Shives, John Deloss (Roxanne) Shives, Jacqueline Ann Hallberg (Dean Waytashek) and Randy Schuneman; grandchildren, Trinity, Dana, James Jr., Devan, Veronica, Benjamin, Adam, Isiah, Hillary, Patrick and Katie; 15 great grandchildren, two sisters, Eunice Love, Geraldine Lima; along with many other relatives and friends.

Services are currently pending at this time. Tentative plans for a Celebration of Life in late June, early July. More information to follow.
