In Memory of Marian L. Isley


November 27, 1941 - September 1, 2023

Marian L. Isley passed away on September 1, 2023. Thomas, her husband of 60 years, was sitting at her side holding her hand. She was born in Michigan to parents Clyde and Louise Sayler.

Marian graduated from Blissfield High School and Davis Business School in Toledo, Ohio. After they were married she worked as an Administrative Assistant at Michigan State University where Tom was a student. Their daughters, Kimberly and Deborah, were born at MSU.

In 1970, the family moved to MN where Tom worked for the DNR. They spent the next 35 years in MN, first in Madelia and then in Shoreview. After both girls were in school, Marian worked for 30 years in the Mounds View school lunch program, retiring as Head Cook.

Marian dedicated her life to caring for her family as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Alliance Church of the Valley and was strong in her faith and relationship with Jesus. She volunteered in many capacities there, including many children’s programs as well as other areas of need. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing, and baking. She was well loved and known for hosting Small Group Ministries in their home. Marian also enjoyed watching wildlife and fishing!

She is preceded in death by daughter, Michelle, parents, brother, Larry, parents-in-law, Elwyn and Alice Isley, sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Mary, and brother-in-law, Ronald.

Marian is survived by her husband, Tom, daughters, Kim (Jon) Erickson, and Debbie (John) Lammers; grandchildren Tommy (Victoria) Erickson, Ellie (Justin) Haughton and Andrew (Lauren) Lammers, Alyssa and Nicole Lammers and great-grandson, Elijah Erickson. She is also survived by her siblings and in-laws Dave (Connie) Sayler, Patricia (Gary) Heinz, Judy Sayler, Loren (Kathy) Isley, Brenda Isley and Ken (Lori) Isley.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Alliance Church of the Valley in St. Croix Falls with visitation one hour prior to the service.
