Mark “Tony” Nelson age 64 of Clayton, WI passed away on June 20th, 2026 at the Amery Hospital.

Tony was born on January 3, 1962 in Madison, TN to Zoe (Cruzen) Nelson and later adopted by Tom Nelson.

Tony graduated high school at Karlsruhe American High School in Germany and later went on to attend Technical School in Rice Lake, WI for telecommunications. He worked as a Cable TV Technician for many years until he retired in 2024.

Tony met his wife, Bonita (Cain) at the A&W in Amery. She was a carhop and she says he was her best customer and a good tipper. They were married on June 12, 1982 and they raised three children. 

Tony enjoyed camping each summer with friends Dan & Kathy Deiss and Stefan & Jolene Salmonson. He loved old trucks, the Minnesota Vikings, Timberwolves, and playing with his grandchildren.

Tony is survived by his wife, Bonita; his son, Ryan (Calli) Nelson; his two daughters, Courtney (Matt) Nelsen and Kinsey (Erik) Krahenbuhl; five grandchildren, Keaton, Lennon, Brooks, Fynlee, Archer, and one on the way; his mother, Zoe Nelson; mother-in-law, Nancy Cain; step mom, Carol Nelson; brothers, Todd (Tammy) Nelson, Doug (Cayci) Nelson and sister Elizabeth (Spencer) Boyles; three brother-in-laws Brian (Cindy) Cain, Brad (Michelle) Cain, and Bryce (Dawn) Cain; many nephews, nieces, cousins, and many other loving family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his dad, Tom Nelson and father-in-law, Bill Cain.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery with a visitation one hour prior. The burial will follow the service at East Lincoln Cemetery in Amery.

There will be lunch at Nancy Cain’s House (844 50th St. Amery, WI) following the burial.
