
In Memory of Marlow W. Fredrick
Marlow Walter Fredrick, age 93, of Rice Lake, WI, died Sunday, April 20, 2025 surrounded by his loving family in Eau Claire, WI. He was born on April 16, 1932 to Walter and Ila (Tinney) Fredrick.
Marlow grew up on a dairy farm and graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1950. He entered the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict and was Honorably Discharged as a Private 1st Class. Marlow also served in the United States National Guards and the Reserves. He kept working on the farm, the Rice Lake Creamery and then attended Vocational School graduating with a degree as a Draftman.
Marlow was married to Janet Andersen on June 26, 1965 in Isle, MN. Marlow worked for several companies and then retired as a Mechanical Designer for Cray Research. He also co-owned and operated Hardscrabble Ski Hill in Rice Lake. He was an active skier and was on the ski patrol for many years, he enjoyed making model ships and planes, and going to many Green Bay Packer games as a season ticket holder. His yard was very meticulous and beyond perfection.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Brian Fredrick (Melissa Donegan) and Scott (Sandy) Fredrick; 3 grandsons, Peter, Michael (Isela Sadowski) and Alex; a granddaughter, Abigail; 2 step grandchildren, Thomas and Claire; 2 great grandsons, Callum and Cario; a special friend of the family, Rita Marcon; and a stepsister, DeAn Marie Krey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Fredrick; his parents, Walter and Ila Fredrick; his stepmother, Sophie Fredrick; an infant daughter; a sister, Leila Fredrick.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Friday, April 25, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Jane Snowden officiating, with interment in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI, where Military Rites accorded him by the Rice Lake Veteran Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Thursday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Friday.
