Marvin Peterson, age 67, a resident of Shell Lake, died on Sunday, March 12, 2017 surround by his family.

Marvin was born on October 31, 1949, at home near Hertel, Wisconsin to parents LeRoy and Mabel (Hart) Peterson.  He graduated from Spooner High School in 1968, and then moved to Waukegan, Illinois.  Shortly thereafter, he was inducted into the United States Marine Corps and served 2 years before being Honorably Discharged.  He then returned to Waukegan and worked at Johnson Outboard Motors for around 20 years as a machinist.  Marvin returned to the Spooner area in the late 1980's and continued to work as a machinist in several area machine shops.  Marvin was a proud member of the Alano club for the past 27 years.  He enjoyed the outdoors- hunting and fishing, and loved sports, especially the Packers.

Marvin is survived by his significant other Linda Cole of Shell Lake, daughter Stacy Beal of Indiana, son Danny, 3 grandsons, sister Loretta (Lonnie) LaRue of Trego, and several extended family and friends.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Lester Peterson.

Visitation for Marvin will be held on Friday, March 17, at the Spooner Funeral Home from 4-6pm, and also on Saturday, at the Funeral Home from 11- noon. A Funeral will be held on Saturday, at noon with Pastor Steve Miller officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Spooner Cemetery. A time of gathering and light reception will follow the interment at the Alano Club in Shell Lake. Casket bearers will be Adam Coen, Leon Hanson, Tony Klassa, Jack Meggison, Dale Mincler, Wayne Pearson, Brian Shedore, and Ray Wilk.
