Mary Ann Butler, age 86, of Lac Courte Oreilles, WI, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025, at Hayward Health Services.

Mary Ann was born January 16, 1939, in Hayward, WI, the daughter of Tony and Elizabeth (Billyboy) Butler. She attended Couderay Grade School and graduated from Winter High School. Upon graduation Mary Ann left for the big city of Chicago, IL where she found employment as a seamstress in an interior decorating business, this was her calling. Mary Ann had a great passion for sewing and had a strong work ethic. She has sewn numerous draperies, bedroom furnishings and countless other items for family and friends. Mary Ann was the big sister that always helped her younger siblings in any way she could. It was always a pleasant surprise getting a package in the mail from Mary Ann. It was through her work that Mary Ann met the love of her life, Gary Goltz.

She is survived by her partner Gary Goltz; brothers Anthony (Monica) Butler & Gary (Phyllis) Butler; sisters Donna LaRonge & Ruth LaRonge; nieces & nephews.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents Tony & Liz; brothers Leonard, James & Lawrence; sisters Dorothy & Sharon; uncles, aunties, nephews & nieces.

Tribal Funeral Rites will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2025, at Signor Community Center in Signor.  Chato “Ombishkebines” Gonzalez will officiate. Burial will be in Billyboy Dam Cemetery in Sand Lake Township. Visitation will begin at sundown Thursday, June 19th at Signor Community Center.

Honorary casket bearers will be all her nieces & nephews.

Casket Bearers will be David Butler Sr, Larry Butler II, Tom Butler, Barry LaRonge, Mark LaRonge & Binesi Paap.
