
In Memory of Mary A. (Strasser) Lunsman
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Ann Lunsman, 88, of Saint Croix Falls, Wisconsin, who left this world peacefully on March 9, 2025. Born on October 11, 1936, in Webster, Wisconsin, Mary Ann was a devoted mother, talented caregiver, and passionate crocheter whose warmth and creativity touched the lives of many.
Mary Ann dedicated much of her professional life to caring for children as a daycare provider, nurturing countless little ones with her kindness and patience. Her love for crafting was evident in her exquisite crochet work, which garnered recognition at the Polk County Fair, earning numerous first-place ribbons and even a Grand Champion ribbon.
An avid reader, Mary Ann found joy in the pages of Reader's Digest and expressed her thoughts and stories through her writing.
She was a loving mother to her daughter, Theresa "Terrie" Lunsman, and her son, Fred Lunsman, and cherished her role as a grandmother to Lisa Spangler, Michael Spangler, Fred Jr. Lunsman, and Lucas Lunsman and great-grandchildren, Carter Spangler, Carter Lunsman, and Hunter Lunsman. Mary Ann is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Davis.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin Lunsman, her parents, Mathilda & Arnold Strasser, her son Lew Lunsman, and siblings, Violet Fossum, Patricia Hedlund, Margaret Alden, and Arnold Strasser.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Dove Healthcare for their extraordinary care over her 15 years at the facility.
Mary Ann’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 2:00 pm. at Joy Lutheran Church in Centuria. The visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the service. Please join the family in the fellowship hall for lunch following the service.
