Mary Ann Simon (Hutton) of Frederic died peacefully at Cumberland Care & Rehab on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the age of 78.

Mary Ann was born on June 6, 1944, to Jerry and Evelyn Hutton (Johnson) on the family farm in Bone Lake Township.

The family relocated to the Twin Cities area, where she graduated from Murray High School in 1962. Mary Ann married Raymond Simon in 1966 and returned to the family homestead. Over their 39 years of marriage, the couple welcomed one son, Gregory, into their home. Mary Ann continued to farm even after Ray's passing in 2005, as her greatest joy in life was being able to care for her animals.

Mary Ann is survived by her son, Gregory (Gina) Simon of Cumberland; grandsons, Jacob and Joshua Simon of Superior, WI; Lucas Simon of Cumberland; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Mary Ann's husband, Raymond, her parents, and brothers, Vern and Dale, preceded her in death.

A memorial service is scheduled at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 2, at the Bone Lake Lutheran Church, Luck, with visitation held one hour before the service. The family would like to thank the staff and Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Cumberland Care & Rehab, and St. Croix Hospice for their care during Mary Ann's final days.
