In Memory of Matthew R. Hellmann
Matthew R. Hellmann age 32, of Menomonie, WI passed away tragically on Sunday, April 20th, 2025 in the town of Dallas.
He was born February 23rd, 1993 in St. Paul's Children's hospital 5 weeks early to his parents Jerry Hellmann and Melissa (Moen) Braden. He grew up in the Ridgeland area and graduated from Colfax High School in 2011. After graduating he practiced many trades until he found his true passion, concrete. He dedicated 9 years to Accurate Construction in Menomonie. In 2024, along with his lifelong best friend, Cody Siebert they started their concrete business, Iron Creek Concrete. Within the first year of business, they exceeded their dreams, goals, and more. Taking pride in the work they have accomplished, he loved to critique any concrete that his eyes would see or his feet would touch.
He met the love of his life as a senior in high school, Taylor Shipman. They started dating January 9th, 2011 and became engaged October 21st, 2016. Matthew married Taylor on June 1st, 2019 at the St. John's Catholic church in Cooks Valley. In October of 2018, they purchased their home south of Menomonie where they have welcomed two children, Teagan (4 years old) and Tate (2 years old) into the world. They are currently building their dream home on family land.
Anyone who knew Matt knew his true passion for the outdoors. It started at a young age when he would hunt coon with his dad, brothers, uncles, and lifelong best friend. It grew into hunting deer, water fowl, coyote, bear, elk hunting in the mountains, and his most exciting hunt, reaping turkeys. All of these activities were with family and many friends. He had a love for music which was evident by him always having music playing and singing along, as well as going to concerts. Family time was also very important to Matt. Spending time with them and daily phone calls to his brothers were something he always looked forward to. As his family grew, he also taught his children his love for the outdoors. They were frequently seen riding in the truck looking for coyotes together, running the hounds, walking around at the zoo, and camping on family land.
Matthew is survived by his wife Taylor, daughter Teagan, son Tate, as well as the baby on the way, all of Menomonie. His parents, Jerry (Melissa) Hellmann of Dallas, Melissa (Brent) Braden of Colfax.
